Soccer Recap: Abingdon Takes a Loss

After soaring to six goals the game before, Abingdon was a bit more limited in their matchup on Wednesday. They took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Galax Maroon Tide. While losing is never fun, Abingdon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 128th, while Galax are ranked 14th).

Abingdon's goal came courtesy of Mason Sollien, who's now up to six this season.

Abingdon's loss dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Galax, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

Abingdon didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-1 defeat against Lord Botetourt on the 7th. As for Galax, they also wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and have already played their next game, a 3-2 victory against Fort Chiswell on the 7th.
