After having lost a blowout in their previous game against NCSSM: Morganton, Avery County was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Draughn Wildcats, sneaking past 3-2. Avery County better thank their lucky stars for the performance of Caitlin Shapiro, as she scored every single goal for her team.

Avery County now has a winning record of 7-6-1. As for Draughn, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Avery County is set to square off against their familiar foe Mountain Heritage at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Draughn will face off against rival NCSSM: Morganton at 5:00 p.m. on the 28th.
