Soccer Game Preview: Buena Park vs. Costa Mesa

The Buena Park Coyotes are taking a road trip to face off against the Costa Mesa Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Buena Park's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

On Monday, Buena Park and Laguna Hills finished up on equal footing with a 2-2 draw.

Meanwhile, Costa Mesa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against Laguna Hills, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 978th, while the Hawks are ranked 300th).

With that draw, Buena Park's record moves to 6-7-7. As for Costa Mesa, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11-2.

Everything went Buena Park's way against Costa Mesa when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Buena Park made off with a 7-1 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Buena Park since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
