Baseball Recap: Edgerton Takes a Loss

Edgerton extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping their season record down to 9-8 in the process. They lost 12-5 to the East Troy Trojans. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

As for East Troy, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by seven runs or more this season.

For East Troy's part, Mason Beaver was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He pitched 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Beaver has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kellen Pluess, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Seth Lingford also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Edgerton will face off against Big Foot at 4:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for East Troy, they will square off against Racine Saint Catherine?s/Racine Lutheran at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
