Baseball Recap: Hattiesburg Homeschool's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Hattiesburg HomeSchool proved they can win big last Saturday (they won by 11) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-0 victory over the Coastal Mississippi Homeschool Wildcats. The win was nothing new for the Forerunners as they're now sitting on three straight.

Alex Sinclair made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over seven innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Hattiesburg HomeSchool is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 2-7 otherwise. Sinclair was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

Sinclair wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Jack Thomas, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Hattiesburg HomeSchool pushed their record up to 9-7 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Coastal Mississippi Homeschool, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-6.

Coming up, Hattiesburg HomeSchool will head out on the road to take on Prentiss Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Saints have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed nine runs per game on average), something the Forerunners will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Coastal Mississippi Homeschool, they will host Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
