Basketball Recap: Jasper Takes a Loss

Jasper was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were dealt a 99-34 defeat at the hands of the Silsbee Tigers. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 46-18.

Silsbee's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ayana Washington led the charge by going 12 for 19 en route to 30 points and five assists. Those 30 points gave Washington a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jena Warden, who went 11 of 19 on her way to 28 points in addition to seven assists and three steals.

Jasper's loss dropped their record down to 4-18. As for Silsbee, they pushed their record up to 18-8 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Bridge City the next time they take the court. Silsbee will head out to face Bridge City at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Jasper will host them at 6:00 p.m. on February 4th.
