Basketball Recap: Covina Comes Up Short

Covina was the 71-62 winner over El Rancho when they last played one another back in November of 2017, but their luck changed this time around. The Colts fell just short of the Dons by a score of 38-35 on Wednesday. The Colts have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Andrew Morones was the offensive standout of the contest as he went 8-for-12 on his way to 17 points and seven rebounds. That's the most points he has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Troy Barajas, who had nine points and five boards.

Covina's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for El Rancho, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Covina wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 45-32 victory against El Monte on the 28th. As for El Rancho, they have also already played their next game, a 54-43 win against San Gabriel on the 28th.
