Basketball Recap: LaFayette Comes Up Short

LaFayette and Dougherty squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but LaFayette had to settle for second. They took a 58-39 bruising from the Dougherty Trojans. The Ramblers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jatiana Chambers was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 26 points and 11 assists for Dougherty. What's more, Chambers racked up six steals, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Amiyah Jackson, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten rebounds.

LaFayette's loss dropped their record down to 15-13. As for Dougherty, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-11 record this season.

LaFayette does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Dougherty, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 56-40 defeat against Cherokee Bluff on the 21st.
