Basketball Recap: Washington Comes Up Short

Washington lost to Cortez back in February of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Rams took a 50-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Colts. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

It was another big night for Carter Wells, who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds for Cortez. Wells has become a key player for the Colts: the team is 9-4 when he posts at least 15 points, but 4-5 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Cassius Henderson, who went 5-for-11 en route to 14 points.

Washington's record now sits at 5-13. As for Cortez, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.

Washington won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Sierra Linda at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Cortez, they will also get right back to it: they'll square off against Yuma at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
