North Gaston had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Ashbrook Greenwave. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 15-0 victory two weeks ago.

Connor Bates made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

In other batting news, Carter Mason was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Aiden Smith was another key player, going 1-for-2 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

North Gaston hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ashbrook struck out six times.

North Gaston's record now sits at 12-6. As for Ashbrook, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-13.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. North Gaston will venture away from home to square off against East Lincoln at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Ashbrook, they will head out to challenge Chambers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 15.56 runs per game on average), something the Greenwave will no doubt try to take advantage of.
