Softball Game Preview: Limestone Rockets vs. Dunlap Eagles

Limestone hasn't had much luck against Dunlap recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Rockets will be playing at home against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Limestone has given up an average of 7.7 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Limestone lost 13-1 to Illini Bluffs on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Dunlap owes their pitching crew a big pat on the back after their performance on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over Metamora. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The result came thanks to Sutton Centoni's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Gabby Drake, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Addie Reed was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Dunlap's win was their 14th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-5. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.1 runs over those games. As for Limestone, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-18.
