Volleyball Recap: Safford Takes a Loss

Safford suffered their biggest loss since September 16th on Tuesday. They lost 3-0 to the Pusch Ridge Christian Academy Lions. The Bulldogs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Safford was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-13, 25-22, 25-13.

Their offense was headlined by Jerzi Hawkins and Alexis Rope, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Jazzlyn Mortensen and her five assists.

Pusch Ridge Christian Academy can attribute much of their success to Alexis Ferbeyre, who had 21 digs and two assists. Ferbeyre has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 12 times she's played.

Safford's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 15-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home.

Safford wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Sabino on the 16th. As for Pusch Ridge Christian Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Pueblo on the 15th.
