Baseball Game Preview: Bishop Garrigan Golden Bears vs. North Iowa Bison

Bishop Garrigan has gone 9-1 against North Iowa recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Golden Bears will head out to square off against the Bison at 5:30 p.m. Bishop Garrigan's pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so North Iowa's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Bishop Garrigan is headed into the matchup having just posted their closest victory since July 13, 2024 on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 6-4 win over Gehlen Catholic. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Golden Bears.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask North Iowa). They walked away with a 17-12 victory over Belmond-Klemme on Friday.

Bishop Garrigan's win bumped their record up to 5-3. As for North Iowa, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Bishop Garrigan took their win against North Iowa when the teams last played back in June of 2024 by a conclusive 16-0 score. Will the Golden Bears repeat their success, or do the Bison have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
