Bellefontaine triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Tiffany Boop

Recap: Bellefontaine Chieftains vs. Urbana Hillclimbers

The Bellefontaine Chieftains came tearing into Wednesday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 22.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They secured a 51-46 W over Urbana. The victory was all the more spectacular given Bellefontaine's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 413th, while Urbana is ranked 154th).

Tiffany Boop was her usual excellent self, scoring 24 points along with five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Parker Penhorwood, who scored eight points along with two steals and two blocks.

Despite the loss, Urbana had strong showings from Lyza Forson, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and four steals, and Peyton Mounce, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Forson continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brylee Spriggs, who scored four points.

Bellefontaine's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Urbana, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-2.

Bellefontaine will take on Kenton Ridge at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Kenton Ridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Wednesday. As for Urbana, they will head out on the road to take on Tecumseh at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
