Starmount entered their tilt with Elkin on Friday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They were the clear victors by a 17-2 margin over the Buckin' Elks. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Rams this season.

Wade Pfaff spent all five innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

Starmount's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Elkin, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
