Basketball Preview: Gering Bulldogs vs. Mitchell Tigers
Gering and the Tigers are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2016, but not for long. The Gering Bulldogs will head out on the road to square off against the Mitchell Tigers at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Gering will be strutting in after a win while the Tigers will be coming in after a defeat.
Gering came into Saturday's contest having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They snuck past Chase County with a 52-46 win on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Mitchell's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 15th straight defeat. They were dealt a 62-28 defeat at the hands of Morrill. Mitchell was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-10.
Gering's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-14. As for Mitchell, their loss was their sixth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-17.
Everything went Gering's way against the Tigers when the teams last played back in December of 2022 as the Bulldogs made off with a 47-24 win. Will Gering repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
