Softball Recap: Fairfield Comes Up Short

Fairfield fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Hamilton County on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Foxes by a score of 9-8. The Mules were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Foxes earlier this season, when they won 6-5.

This is the second loss in a row for Fairfield and nudges their season record down to 15-10. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only 1.5 runs. As for Hamilton County, their record now sits at 13-14.

Fairfield has already played their next game, a 17-2 victory against Norris City-Omaha-Enfield on the 12th. As for Hamilton County, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 7-2 win against Frankfort on the 12th.
