Rancho Cucamonga barely beat Apple Valley the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars put the hurt on the Sun Devils with a sharp 9-1 win on Wednesday. The Cougars not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 20th (when they won 14-4).
Anaya Burley was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Gonzalez, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Rancho Cucamonga kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Apple Valley only managed five hits.
The victory got Rancho Cucamonga back to even at 10-10. As for Apple Valley, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-7-1.
Coming up, Rancho Cucamonga will challenge Upland at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The Highlanders/Scots' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Apple Valley, they will be playing at home against Hesperia at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The Sun Devils are facing the Scorpions at the right time seeing as the Scorpions are stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
