Soccer Recap: Wekiva Comes Up Short

Wekiva lost against Colonial back in January of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Colonial Grenadiers who were credited with the victory. The Colonial Grenadiers got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to the Wekiva Mustangs' two. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wekiva's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Colonial, with the win, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 3-8.

Wekiva will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lake Howell at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025. Wekiva is facing Lake Howell at the right time seeing as Lake Howell is stuck on a three-game losing streak. Colonial will take on East River in a holiday battle at at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Colonial's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for six straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
