Baseball Recap: Northwest Takes a Loss

Northwest was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 12-4 to the Pine Prairie Panthers. The Raiders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Panthers earlier this season, when they won 13-7.

Dreamon Haywood made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. He has become a key player for Northwest: the team is 4-2 when he posts at least two runs, but 2-20 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Courtlyn Young, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

Northwest's defeat dropped their record down to 6-22. As for Pine Prairie, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Northwest will venture away from home to square off against Beau Chene at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Pine Prairie, they will welcome East Beauregard at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
