Softball Preview: Elyria Catholic Panthers vs. Perkins Pirates        
        
		
            
 The Elyria Catholic Panthers have the luxury  of staying home for another  game and will welcome the Perkins Pirates at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Elyria Catholic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8  runs per game  this season.
 On Wednesday, Elyria Catholic earned  a  6-2 victory over Rocky River.
  Jessica Conner was  incredible,  going 2-for-4 with a  home run, two  runs,  and a  stolen base. Another player making a difference was  Lillian Ciryak, who  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in three of her four plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Perkins' offense. They took  a  3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Madison Comprehensive on Monday. Perkins just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
 Elyria Catholic's win was  their eighth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 13-5. As for Perkins, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-7.
 Elyria Catholic came out on top in a nail-biter against Perkins  when the teams last played  back in May of 2023, sneaking past  7-5. Will Elyria Catholic repeat their success,  or does  Perkins have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
