Baseball Recap: West Port Wolf Pack vs. Union County Fightin' Tigers
West Port was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Union County Fightin' Tigers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Wolf Pack have suffered since March 19, 2024.
Efren Soto was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Ricardo Soto, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
West Port's loss dropped their record down to 3-20. As for Union County, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-13.
Coming up, West Port will welcome Interlachen at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Union County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
