Baseball Recap: Fleming County Takes a Loss

Fleming County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 10-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fort Walton Beach Vikings.

Fleming County got a good showing from Kaleb McIntyre, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

At the plate, Thadd Applegate stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he scored two runs while going 2-for-5. He is becoming a predictor of Fleming County's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 2-1 (and 3-5 when he doesn't). Tyler Dells also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Fleming County now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Fort Walton Beach, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fleming County will welcome Bath County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Fort Walton Beach, they will host Gallatin County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
