Tate posted their closest win since September 28, 2024 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Pensacola Catholic Crusaders 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Aggies: when they faced off against the Crusaders back in August, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Tate who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-21, 22-25, 25-18, 20-25, 18-16.

Torrie Garrett paced Tate's offense, picking up 18 kills. Garrett got some help from Bailie Merritt and her 49 assists. Jayla Templeman and Jacey Stuart kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with three aces apiece.

When it comes to explaining why Pensacola Catholic lost, don't look at Gracelyn Weihenmayer. Despite the final result, she had 13 digs and three assists. Madison Walker was another key player, getting eight digs and eight assists.

Tate's record is now 16-4. As for Pensacola Catholic, the loss snapped their winning streak at four matches and leaves them with a 14-8 record.

Tate wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-1 defeat against Gulf Breeze on the 1st. As for Pensacola Catholic, they will square off against Booker T. Washington at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
