Soccer Game Preview: Silsbee vs. Lumberton

Silsbee is 0-10 against Lumberton since February of 2020 but things could change on Friday. The Silsbee Tigers will take on the Lumberton Raiders at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It was a proper cat-fight when Silsbee faced off against Bridge City on Friday. Silsbee walked away with a 3-1 win over Bridge City. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.

Meanwhile, Lumberton entered their tilt with Jasper on Tuesday with 12 consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with 13. They never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 9-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won ten games by three goals or more so far this season.

Lumberton's win was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-3-1. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those seven matches. As for Silsbee, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.

Silsbee suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Lumberton in their previous meeting back in February. Can Silsbee avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
