Basketball Game Preview: Adairsville Tigers vs. Ridgeland Panthers

Adairsville has gone 6-0 against Ridgeland recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Adairsville Tigers take on the Ridgeland Panthers at 8:30 p.m. Adairsville will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Adairsville didn't have too much trouble with Northwest Whitfield as they won 55-36.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Adairsville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tre Winters, who went 8 for 19 on his way to 18 points and six assists. Winters' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Benjamin A Abernathy, who almost dropped a double-double on 11 points and nine rebounds.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Ridgeland). They walked away with an 88-78 victory over Northwest Whitfield on Tuesday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Panthers as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.

Adairsville's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.6 points per game. As for Ridgeland, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-9 and their overall record up to 6-16.

Everything came up roses for Adairsville against Ridgeland in their previous meeting on January 7th, as the squad secured an 80-30 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Adairsville since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
