Softball Recap: Arnold Takes a Loss

After flying high against Mosley last Wednesday, Arnold came back down to earth. The Marlins fell just short of the North Bay Haven Academy Buccaneers by a score of 7-5 on Friday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Buccaneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-1 back in March.

Jayden Reyes was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Lily Cobb, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Arnold's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-5. As for North Bay Haven Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season.

Arnold and North Bay Haven Academy should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings. The Marlins will face off against Choctawhatchee at 6:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank advantage (71 vs. 306). Meanwhile, North Bay Haven Academy (ranked 26th) will meet Crestview (ranked 202nd) at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
