Norwayne hadn't done well against Smithville recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Bobcats came out on top in a nail-biter against the Smithies, sneaking past 3-2. Winning may never get old, but the Bobcats sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Norwayne was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. The final score came out to 23-25, 25-22, 18-25, 25-16, 15-11.

Norwayne's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Morgan Lance, who had 15 digs. Those 15 digs gave Lance a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Laney Dudte, who had 17 digs and two assists.

Norwayne's record is now 6-0. As for Smithville, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4.

Looking ahead, Norwayne will head out on the road to challenge Canton Central Catholic at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday. As for Smithville, they will square off against Hillsdale at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
