Soccer Game Preview: West Point vs. Tolleson

The West Point Dragons will take on the Tolleson Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

West Point came up short against Browne on Monday, falling 8-2. The loss continues a trend for the Dragons in their matchups with the Bruins: they've now lost three in a row.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Tolleson). They never let Valley Vista onto the board and left with an 8-0 win on Monday. The victory was nothing new for the Wolverines as they're now sitting on four straight.

Tolleson was without their leading scorer, Aden Ramirez, in Monday's match. With Ramirez sidelined, Tolleson had to make some big changes to the lineup. Three players hit the pitch for the first time this season: Javier Medrano, Thomas Garcia, and Anthony Contreras. The pair took full advantage of the opportunity: Medrano scored two goals, while he scored a goal and one steal.

Tolleson has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 11-5-1 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 20 goals over those six contests. As for West Point, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-11-1.

West Point suffered a grim 5-2 defeat to Tolleson in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can West Point avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
