It was a good run, but Asheboro unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to the Southeast Guilford Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-2 loss two weeks ago.

While Asheboro had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-23, 25-19, 23-25, 25-20.

Lia George paced Asheboro's offense, picking up 12 kills. George got some help from Kailey Brown and her 17 assists. Brown was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Asheboro's loss dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Southeast Guilford, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

As of now, neither Asheboro nor Southeast Guilford have any future games scheduled.
