Baseball Recap: Madill Comes Up Short

Madill dropped to 7-23 on Wednesday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They came up short against the Sulphur Bulldogs, falling 11-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wildcats of the 15-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.

As for Sulphur, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 28-5. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 20 contests by six runs or more this season.

For Sulphur's part, Lucas Mitchell spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. Mitchell has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Carter Cole, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Maddax Mobly, who went 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

As of now, neither Madill nor Sulphur have any future games scheduled.
