Football Game Preview: Carson Cougars vs. Montgomery Central Timberwolves + Official Tickets

Two dominant s in Jamarion Brown and Jamison Leake are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Carson Cougars will be playing at home against the Montgomery Central Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Montgomery Central took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Carson, who comes in off a win.

Carson's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They breezed past South Rowan to the tune of 35-0. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 21 points or more this season.

Rosean Perkins was his usual excellent self, rushing for 140 yards and three scores on only 12 carries, while also picking up 80 receiving yards and one touchdown. Those three rushing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Griffin Barber, who rushed for 58 yards and one TD on only seven carries.

Carson's run defense was locked in: South Rowan could only muster 1.9 yards per carry. The team can thank Brown for the heroic effort on defense: he. Carson didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 6.5.

Carson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Cruise Montieth. Carson got some further help from Jase Overcash: he picked up a sack, made six total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defended one pass.

Meanwhile, Montgomery Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 27-7 to Central Davidson. The game was over by the end of the first half, with no points scored by either team from that point forward.

Montgomery Central's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Carson, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
