Baseball Game Preview: Arp Tigers vs. Huntington Red Devils

The Arp Tigers will face off against the Huntington Red Devils at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Arp picked up another tournament win on Friday. They were the clear victor by an 11-1 margin over Ore City. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.

Caden Cliborn made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Adan Ponce, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Wyatt Johnson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Huntington entered their tilt with Daingerfield on Friday with six consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with seven. They walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Tigers.

Alex Havard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits and racked up six Ks.

At the plate, Isaac Sapp was excellent, scoring a run and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Green, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Huntington pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.4 runs over those games. As for Arp, their victory bumped their record up to 2-5-1.
