Monterey waltzed into their game on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Hollister Haybalers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in April.

Monterey got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the second set. The final score came out to 25-19, 36-34, 19-25, 25-20.

Monterey pushed their record up to 24-12 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Hollister, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 16-15 record this season.

Monterey will challenge Carmel at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Padres will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Dores surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hollister, they will take on Seaside at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Haybalers are facing the Spartans at the right time seeing as the Spartans are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
