Softball Recap: Payson Longhorns vs. San Tan Foothills Sabercats
Payson had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the San Tan Foothills Sabercats with a sharp 21-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Longhorns, who have now won four contests by ten runs or more so far this season.
Kinikki Smith made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases.
