Basketball Game Preview: Severn School Admirals vs. New Hope Academy National Tigers

The Severn School Admirals and the New Hope Academy National Tigers will round out the year against one another at at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Severn School knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matches -- so hopefully New Hope Academy National likes a good challenge.

Last Friday, it was close, but Severn School capped 2024 with a 63-60 victory over Archbishop Carroll.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when New Hope Academy National faced off against Dulaney on Saturday. New Hope Academy National ended the year with a bang, routing Dulaney 76-52. The win was all the more spectacular given the Tigers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Lions are ranked 30th).

Severn School better keep an eye on Uriah Augare-Deal. He was instrumental in New Hope Academy National's win, dropping a double-double on 18 points and 14 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Haki Muhammed II, who went 8 of 17 on his way to 21 points.

New Hope Academy National's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-10. As for Severn School, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
