The Trezevant Bears will head out to challenge the Lakeland Preparatory Lions at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Trezevant comes in on eight and Lakeland Preparatory on 13.
Trezevant proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by eight) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out KIPP Collegiate 11-9.

Zavion Evans was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and one triple. Those six RBI gave him a new career-high. Phoenix Goodwill was another key player, getting on base in both of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
Trezevant always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .619. That was just more of the same: they've now posted an OBP of .556 or higher in 12 consecutive games.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Lakeland Preparatory took on Ripley last Wednesday. The Lions were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Tigers. Considering the Lions have won 13 matches by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Olivier Grandchamp looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.
At the plate, Lakeland Preparatory got a massive performance out of Ryan Pitts, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Noah Lindsey, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.
Lakeland Preparatory's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 20-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Trezevant, their record is now 12-6-1.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Trezevant has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .682. However, it's not like Lakeland Preparatory struggles in that department as they've averaged .511. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Trezevant might still be hurting after the 28-5 loss they got from Lakeland Preparatory in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
