Basketball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is St. Clairsville's Tenth in Last 11 Outings

St. Clairsville won the last time they faced Steubenville and things went their way on Tuesday too. The St. Clairsville Red Devils sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 71-69 victory over the Steubenville Big Red. That's two games straight that the Red Devils have won by exactly two points.

Steubenville's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Santino Haney, who posted 18 points along with eight rebounds and eight steals. That's the most boards Haney has posted since back in February of 2024. Another player making a difference was Aiden Davis, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds.

St. Clairsville is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-3 record this season. As for Steubenville, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-2.

St. Clairsville will look to defend their home court on Friday against Harrison Central at 7:00 p.m. St. Clairsville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 15 matches -- so hopefully Harrison Central likes a good challenge. As for Steubenville, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 63-37 win against Wheeling Park on the 29th.
