Basketball Recap: Nickerson Comes Up Short

Nickerson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 62-19 loss at the hands of the Larned Indians. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while the Indians are ranked 82nd).

Nickerson's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Larned, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nickerson will face off against Smoky Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Nickerson is facing Smoky Valley at the right time seeing as Smoky Valley is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Larned, they will head out to face off against Halstead at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Halstead will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something Larned surely won't give up without a fight.
