Baseball Game Preview: New Providence Pioneers vs. Governor Livingston Highlanders

New Providence is 2-8 against Governor Livingston since May of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Saturday. The Pioneers will look to defend their home field against the Highlanders at 11:00 a.m.

New Providence is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Thursday. They lost 13-2 to Scotch Plains-Fanwood. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Pioneers have suffered against the Raiders since April 23, 2019.

Matthew Santacross was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Governor Livingston strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They never let Cranford get on the board and left with an 11-0 win.

New Providence's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Governor Livingston, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.
