Basketball Recap: Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Saturday

It was a good run, but Scottsdale Preparatory Academy unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 34-24 to the Valley Pirates.

Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Maeve Morgan, who went 6 for 13 on her way to 14 points in addition to seven rebounds and five steals. Morgan has been hot, having posted five or more steals the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Crandall, who posted two points along with 12 boards and four blocks.

Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Valley, their victory bumped their record up to 5-7.

Scottsdale Preparatory Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 36-25 win against Camp Verde on the 28th. As for Valley, they will venture away from home to square off against Red Mesa at 6:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
