Basketball Recap: Seton Snags Ninth Win in Last Ten Games

Seton won the last time they faced Ursuline Academy and things went their way on Thursday too. The Seton Saints put the hurt on the Ursuline Academy Lions with a sharp 58-35 win. Given the Saints' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 84th, while the Lions are ranked 371st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Seton can attribute much of their success to Aubri Korfhagen, who posted 14 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Brooke Goshorn, who scored ten points.

Seton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 11 consecutive matchups.

Seton is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.6 points over those games. As for Ursuline Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-14.

Looking ahead, Seton will face off against Walnut Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Walnut Hills will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Seton surely won't give up without a fight. As for Ursuline Academy, they will head out to square off against West Clermont at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
