Basketball Game Preview: Decatur Golden Gators vs. Kentlake Falcons

Decatur and Kentlake are an even 3-3 against one another since January of 2015, but not for long. The Decatur Golden Gators are taking a road trip to take on the Kentlake Falcons at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Decatur is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.

Decatur managed to keep up with Auburn Mountainview until halftime on Friday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Decatur came up short against Auburn Mountainview, falling 87-62. While losing is never fun, the Golden Gators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 244th, while the Lions are ranked 36th).

Kentlake played against Auburn Mountainview and lost via forfeit.

Decatur's loss dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Kentlake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-16.

Decatur took their victory against Kentlake when the teams last played back in January by a conclusive 77-55. The rematch might be a little tougher for Decatur since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
