Basketball Recap: Make It Eight in a Row for Choctaw Central

On Tuesday, Choctaw Central faced Neshoba Central in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Choctaw Central Warriors walked away with a 56-44 win over the Neshoba Central Rockets. The victory was familiar territory for the Warriors who have now won eight matches in a row.

Despite the loss, Neshoba Central still got an impressive performance from Kyli Truss, who posted 22 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Truss has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jiar Henry, who had nine points and five steals.

Choctaw Central pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. As for Neshoba Central, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Choctaw Central and Leake Academy will round out the year against one another at at 2:30 p.m. on December 27th. Leake Academy will roll in looking for their 19th straight victory, something Choctaw Central surely won't give up without a fight. As for Neshoba Central, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-28 win against Columbus on the 20th.
