Baseball Recap: Southwest Florida Christian Takes a Loss

Southwest Florida Christian came into this matchup off a tough nine-run defeat two weeks ago. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the IMG Academy Gold Ascenders by a score of 10-8 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the King's have suffered since April 15, 2024.

Romie Afanador and Lawson Polhill did some serious damage despite the final result: Afanador scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances, while Polhill scored two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Afanador a new career-high in RBI (two). Another player making a difference was Logan Waldrup, who scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.
