East Bay - Mountain Top Player Performances of the Week

Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!

Jhadis Luckey Turns in Season-Best Effort

On Friday, California got the W thanks in part to Jhadis Luckey playing the best football he has all season. Luckey rushed for 425 yards and seven touchdowns while picking up 12.1 yards per carry, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 70-yard run.

If history really does repeat itself, Luckey might just drop another big game when he faces off against San Ramon Valley on Friday. When Luckey last faced the Wolves back in October, he rushed for 165 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry.

Marco Jones Delivers Best Performance of Season

San Ramon Valley was led to victory by Marco Jones, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Jones picked up 3.5 sacks and made 14 total tackles (4.0 for loss).

Monte Vista's probably not too fond of Jones given he always seems to get the better of them. Jones picked up 0.5 sacks, made eight total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defended a pass the last time he and the Mustangs duked it out back in November of 2023.

Big Game from Thompson As San Ramon Valley Won 38-7

Another San Ramon Valley player making an appearance on this list is Rhett Thompson. He threw for 314 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes.

Thompson and San Ramon Valley will welcome California at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wolves got just the result they wanted when they last faced the Grizzlies, probably because Thompson had a solid game then too: he threw for 163 yards and three touchdowns. Can he match (or beat) that performance?
