Football Recap: Polytechnic Comes Up Short

Polytechnic had lost three straight at home, but on Thursday they dropped down to 0-6 to make it four. They took a blow against the Arlington Heights Yellowjackets, falling 65-0. While losing is never fun, the Parrots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 1044th, while the Yellowjackets are ranked 288th).

As for Arlington Heights, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 2.3 points on average this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Arlington Heights to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carson James, who rushed for 128 yards and four scores on only six carries. James is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 124 every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Carmelo Carter, who rushed for 73 yards and one touchdown.

Polytechnic wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 66-20 loss against Paschal on the 10th. As for Arlington Heights, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 50-47 defeat against Saginaw on the 9th.
