Melbourne extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping them up to 5-0. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Bishop Verot Vikings. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Bulldogs have posted since September 27, 2024.

Melbourne was led to victory by Kinsey Hurd and Juliana Silvestri. Hurd had 13 digs and one assist, while Silvestri had 11 digs and two aces. Hurd is crushing it when it comes to digs: she's had at least ten every time she's taken the court this season.

As for Bishop Verot, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. The loss put an end to their undefeated start to the season.

Despite the loss, Bishop Verot saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Chase Hathaway had 12 digs.

Melbourne didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 win against Bell Creek Academy on the 22nd. As for Bishop Verot, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against International Community on the 22nd.
