Bad Axe and Laker are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2022, but not for long. The Bad Axe Hatchets will face off against the Laker Lakers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

Bad Axe is headed into Wednesday's contest hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-51 heartbreaker at the hands of Unionville-Sebewaing. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Hatchets came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 161st, while the Patriots are ranked 410th).

Meanwhile, Laker entered their tilt with Vassar on Friday with three consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Vulcans by a score of 63-50.

Laker pushed their record up to 12-9 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.3 points over those games. As for Bad Axe, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-6.

Bad Axe came up short against Laker when the teams last played on Wednesday, falling 77-68. Can Bad Axe avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
