Baseball Recap: Smithville Takes a Loss

Smithville lost against Hillsdale on Wednesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Smithies fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 6-5. The Smithies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ben Beichler made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Another player making a difference was Jax Riggenbach, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

The loss was their first at home , dropping their record down to 3-5. As for Hillsdale, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Smithville will head out on the road to square off against Loudonville at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. The Smithies are facing the Redbirds at the right time seeing as the Redbirds are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Hillsdale, they will head out to challenge Ontario at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
